Study abroad - to adjust the world, known to the world

Studying abroad is something that everyone should do it at a young age. Education abroad experience, I feel that it helps to shape people's opinions about life; open to other people, cultures and ways of life that helps to live.

The opportunity to study abroad - Italy - at Kent State University came to work my way upward through the initiative. Programs like me to work with students and first-generation college-ready, low-income students to increase educational opportunities.

Upward Bound I was a student for about five years, and I made so many connections to the campus. So, I do not have access to under-served for the Kent State students to study abroad, they told me, I knew that once-in-a-lifetime experience would be that it would be beneficial to me.

One thing that surprised me is that in Italy, among other things, has a rich culture and fascinating. While in Florence, 'Roman achievement' class, I analyze the influence of the Roman Empire in Europe.

Florence is an amazing structure of the building itself still see some of which were built during the Roman Empire. Everywhere is like looking at a piece of art history in Florence. Everywhere there are stories of success and victory.

Recognition

I took a class on Italian, and I immersed in a culture of easy to pick up the language he was speaking. Florence, the people were very helpful and I felt accepted in their culture.

Florence, I felt free. I was free to be who I was, and I had no qualms about not accepted. Every day I passed by a pizzeria. One day I went and met the woman who ran the place. The next day, I again went into the pizzeria, and he hugged me and my 'usual' asked me if I wanted to.

This woman looked at me different. He was tall, olive-toned complexion and beautiful blue eyes, and I am a dark-complexioned girl. He accepted me for who I was. While we lived close to my left, and I visited her almost every day.

Italian people began to refer to her as my mother. I do not who would have opened just one day after the arms of a stranger known by many people to fill them. I've never known how to be accepting of other cultures that I have not studied abroad this past summer.

The more I became aware of the differences between the Italian and American culture.

One thing that really helped me grow in Florence, is the color of your skin has no barriers. In Italy, no matter your skin tone, nationality or ethnicity, I have not found a label.

The Italians, in my opinion, the people who supported and helped to shape my world view. I learned that we do not all societies in America in the American society and culture issues like race or skin tone.

About other cultures and live in a group of people doing something you feel somewhat enlightened. For me, before traveling to Italy in the world Ravenna, Ohio, where I grew up just a small town, and Kent, Ohio, where I went to college in a small town.

A change in the

Coming home from Italy, I felt some kind of change me forever.

While I was away, which has been under a high-school mindset, I found a part of me. Since returning to Florence, I hope and empathy and love other cultures and enlighten people in my life through a different me, I was eager to learn more about other ways.

Looking back on my experience, I can honestly say I am a better, more enlightened after that, people. From here out, to go out into the world and at the same time, and I can look from a different perspective.

I cannot look at my Americanized is able or unable to change my mindset Italianized.

The world is a big place; full of different kinds of people and cultures. I think everyone should have the opportunity to get to know other cultures are young again, and at a time when they can take what you learn, process and use.

Open account

my advice is open to anyone who is going to study abroad, with the hope that the experience is life-changing.

In order to change the world, you have to know what you're trying to change. There is no way you can save the world if you do not know what is on your side.

My advice to parents is to promote this experience; let your children, it will be great. There is something great to be able to empathize with other cultures. There is something else to make you feel proud to live in a country that was able to be amazing.

I'm proud to be an American citizen and I am proud to have been taken in Italy. I'm no longer the small-town, I left the closed-minded girl. I am now a round, open-minded young woman will continue to grow and mature over time.

From here out, once and for all the idea that what is outside my college years at Kent State and the life that I took with me over?
