Best of equally worlds

There is not much online education, which has developed a disclosure unlimited potential, so that developing countries have written about. I have first-hand that the functions of these countries, facilitating workshops and demonstrating the benefits of online delivery, in particular, expanding access to higher education in order to get in.

Undoubtedly, the opportunity to improve the delivery of online students are located in remote areas, people who are completely immersed in work, your commitment or have medical conditions that prevent the presence on campus of higher education that is provided to engage in, but it is not necessarily a panacea for all students.

This study suggests that online students what to do in developing countries where primary and secondary levels of education, in terms of resources and the quality of the curriculum sub-standard in many cases it would present some significant challenges for many.

These students are less prepared and resources, as an independent self-directed learners, which is expected to succeed online learning setting.

Further, the student community and the significant value in the context of their cultural relations, still learning online from start to finish as well as a separate trip to the student and the teacher by keeping the students apart from each other. It is a great challenge, especially that cultural environment that is highly valued against the group.

Student technology separate facilities, even though these technologies available and reliable - in many developing countries a huge 'if' - there are so many other aspects of higher education through the student independently.

Among them, the work is a prerequisite for the registration of each semester to decode what the subject, how to contact the right staff, skills development and academic study techniques about where to get help, how best to use the text, how to submit assignments, access to library resources, to the web, where ... are just a few tests to find the resources.

Of course, all of this information available to students online to read, but it does not replace the discussions which are subject to these and additional information about the class to be inevitable. In most instances, these students also 'first family' (or country), try to higher education so that no one will have to experience what they are driving.

The lack of social connection

Consider, as online learning materials made available to the student clear, comprehensive, structured and well presented and high quality ones.

We also learn that much thought given to the different styles of learning activities by ensuring that they are taken, make sure the content is composed of a variety of examples of contemporary research-informed and informal assessments that are part of the way to allow students an opportunity to come to measure the progress in. (Again, these assumptions have been great!)

The achievement of social connections is still a major problem in developing countries, the majority of students, he said. That is, aside from online discussion forums online that allow student-to-student, audio lectures made available and teleconferences may occur between teachers and students.

For those students who are studying online is a major factor in geographic isolation and a lot of opportunities to travel a great distance to attend school in a compact is impractical during the holidays at the university. An additional opportunity to create learning communities - However, they can come together in a physical space, they need to connect with other students.

There are some beautiful examples of online - learning programs need to recognize those social connections - and the distance. One example, among others, I have been working as a witness where the university is offering programs in local schools, local education facilities across the country to set up the school, the sources added.

If possible, direct talks are streamed through video-conference center, but, in fact, poor communication, lack of services and even electricity in some places this complicates.

Limited face-to-face teaching sessions take place throughout the semester and are very well taken, but rather may be few and far between.

It is noteworthy; however, the role of these centers is important to establish a sense of community. They become a place for students to come together in an informal base of knowledge, experience and share stories.

It belongs to the family, the community and the many cultures in developing countries that has a strong sense of the partnerships.

Students visiting the center and those who share similar challenges when they do not even feel safe in the same course of interacting with others. For some, even without that person's level of their relations and the motivation to continue their studies would be lost.

The example given is not the only one - there are several examples in operation around the world, such as. What is often lacking in developing countries, however, consistent, long-term international public funding these centers, must overcome the challenges associated with reliance is committed to keeping its ongoing operations.

What is also certain is missing as a result of the decisions that fit the cultural context in which the approach to ensure the success of all involved in the process of investing.

What is the big dollars that are doomed to fail because it has to take account of the realities of cultural and environmental principles of the approach to the point of death?
